North Carolina Progress Board Identity

The North Carolina Progress Board was created by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1995 to create a detailed map of how to meet specific goals, asses the state’s progress in meeting the goals, and report any progress – or lack of progress – to state leaders and residents. The Progress Board is responsible for tracking this progress in eight "issue areas."

This logo was created for the North Carolina Progress Board through the NC State University Design Center.

The use of typefaces Goudy and Tasse is meant to convey a sense of progress, while not ignoring the state’s past. The circular element also conveys a sense of progress and a connection to imagery already used by the Board to track progress in the eight "issue areas."
